Which circumstances would prevent the ICAEW from being able to provide a confirmation letter?
There are certain occasions where ICAEW would not be able to provide a confirmation letter, these are:
- Membership fees unpaid for the current year. The outstanding fees would need to be paid in full before a confirmation letter request can be processed.
- The individual currently has an open investigation with our Professional Conduct Department. Only once this has been closed can we proceed with the confirmation letter request.
- If a third-party confirmation letter request has been received, but no signed consent from the individual received.
- Unable to locate an individual with details that have been provided.
-
I have previously obtained a confirmation letter, does this have an expiration date?
ICAEW letters are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Should you require an up-to-date confirmation letter a new application will need to be submitted and paid for.
