What is the Diploma in Corporate Finance?
The Diploma is recognised by the FCA as meeting the full qualification requirement for Activity 8 as per key 1- those advising on investments in the course of corporate finance business.

What is involved?
The new route to the Diploma in Corporate Finance consists of three on-demand exams and one narrative exam. The three new on-demand exams provide a flexible progression route, with each building upon the last in terms of required study hours and complexity.
- Level 3 - Financial Reporting and Financial Statements Analysis
- Level 4 - Sources of Finance, Capital Investments and Valuations
- Level 6 - Mergers & Acquisitions and Market Regulations
- Level 6 - Corporate Finance Strategy and Advice
The existing final unit, Corporate Finance Strategy and Advice is an open book narrative exam that requires candidates to have a detailed understanding of issues, disciplines, regulations and strategies involved in advising on and implementing companies’ corporate finance objectives. This exam is scheduled to take place on two dates in 2025:
- 2 June 2025 – 13.00 BST
- November 2025 TBC
The Diploma in Corporate Finance is regulated by Ofqual. On the European Qualifications Framework, this equates to a level 6 qualification.

- Your eligibility will be checked and you will receive confirmation of your booking which will include the date of your exam sitting.

The total qualification time for this qualification is 537 hours. This is an estimate of the number of hours that a typical candidate might reasonably spend achieving the qualification. This will vary depending on your previous experience and includes any formal study as well as self-study and assessment time.
